Will Gerndt brings a growing career in the credit union industry to our team at Symphony. A recent graduate from James Madison University with a focus in accounting and computer information systems, Will worked in public accounting for two years before his career at VolCorp began in May 2024.

Adding to his experience daily as he conducts supervisory committee audits and develops a number of new credit union relationships, Will’s simultaneously completed his PaymentsFirst ACH certification and is working toward his BSA certification. Outside of his Symphony career, Will enjoys a number of outdoor activities including golfing, water sports, concerts, sporting events, and most relaxingly, time spent with his dog.

Susan Owen brings nearly fifty years of credit union experience to her role at Symphony. Starting as a teller for U.S. Courthouse Credit Union (now U.S. Community Credit Union), Susan went on to lead their entire accounting department. After more than two decades of service, Susan then worked under a highly respected CPA in Nashville, TN, starting in 2000. Utilizing her firsthand knowledge of the credit union world, Susan amassed her auditing expertise before joining the team at VolCorp in 2004.

Today, Susan provides ACH and BSA audits on top of helping credit unions reconcile corporate statements, debit card processing and other miscellaneous projects, as needed. She also applies best practices as well as training out of the same engagements she leads. She’s affected countless credit unions with her passion for the industry and her instinctive ability to build lasting relationships everywhere she goes!

Nancy Walker’s extensive career speaks to a person with a deep love for serving credit unions, especially those of smaller size. Accumulating years of experience serving financial institutions near and within the middle Tennessee area since 1978, Nancy’s past titles and the accomplishments that followed thereafter include work within Nashville General Hospital Credit Union, East Alabama Community Federal Credit Union and serving as CEO of Nashville’s MPD Community Credit Union until her retirement in 2017.

Nancy utilizes her background by helping Symphony today in a consultant role, helping client credit unions perform supervisory committee audits and complete other requirements. She holds an associate’s degree from Nashville State Technical Institute, a bachelor’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, and a certified credit union executive designation. Away from work Nancy savors time with her six grandkids while also reading and exercising avidly, walking at least five miles a day.
